The project consisted of modifications to the airport terminal building to enable passenger and baggage security screening. The project also incorporated a refurbishment of the check in area, and construction of new offices.
Upgrade and internal refurbishment of the airport terminal building as a part of the preparation for the aviation security screening operations commencing at Wagga Wagga Airport on 1 July 2012. The works involved a variety of trades including structural steel, carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and painting and consisted of the following works: construction of a new link structure between the terminal and the baggage make up area, new office and Checked Bag Screening enclosure, new check in area and new counters, new bathroom in staff area, relocation of all existing services on removal of existing ceiling at check in and associated site works, associated electrical and mechanical works, liaise with separate contractors for security and conveying equipment.
